Bill Gates on top of the world again

According to the recent data of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bill Gates is once again the world's richest person. The Microsoft founder had last been number one in 2007, but later he receded. This year he is not just back to the list, he is on top. Gates, whose fortune valued at $72.2 mln, recaptured the title from the Mexican media mogul Carlos Slim. The gap between their capitals is rather small, only $550 mln, but that was enough.
The agency's analysts say that the Bill Gates' capital is up by $10 bln. At the end of the last week the shares of the Microsoft software maker rose in prices by 28% and hit a five-year high. But the Mexican billionaire's business was not doing so well. After the decision of the Mexico's Congress to amend the regulation system of the telecommunication market, Carlos Slim lost his dominance in this sector that cost him about $2 bln. This financial loss reflected in his position in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index list.
Warren Buffett, the Chairman of the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. with $59.7 bln, became the third richest person in the world.
