The British Broadcasting Corporation, or BBC, has recently released results of the survey of 26,000 people from 25 countries. The respondents were asked a simple question: “What is the most popular country in the world?” It turned out that Germany is the most positively viewed nation with 59% of survey participants. The country is followed by Canada (55%) and Great Britain (55%). Japan, the last year's leader, this time got only 51% of positive ratings, which brought it the 4th position. France with a rating of 49% is also in the top 5. It is no surprise that Germany heads the list. Its economic stability amid the tough European economic situation deserves world's attention and respect. That is confirmed by 68% of Spanish and 78% of French and British citizens. The only country that gave mostly negative rating to Germany is Greece. However, even that fact did not stop the country on its way to victory.
As for other largest countries, their percentages were as follows: the U.S.A. - 45%, China – 42%, and India – 38%. Russia obtained just 30%. The most negatively perceived countries are Israel (21%) and North Korea (19%). Iran and Pakistan got 15% each.
