The Mission to the European Union in Brussels is now sticking to an austerity plan. The diplomats need to reduce expenses by 20%. Not to lose the office in the center of Europe because of arrears on utilities, the Belgium government decided to impose the austerity measures. The cost-cuttings started with coffee and phone calls. The special control is established over teakettles and coffeemakers. Other electric devices were not neglected too. Heaters, for example, are now officially banned, so they will be extricated in the nearest future. At the end of each working day there is a rigorous check of sockets and switches. The officers were urged to talk less on the phone, and warned that each excessive coffee cup may eventually trigger an ejection. In short, the country's government takes any possible step in order to avoid a €750 mln fine. The European Commission Board has highly appreciated the program for economic indicators stabilization. For now, the permanent EU Mission will not incur the penalties.
