The Global Corruption Barometer showed that the world corruption scale has increased dramatically. The Gallup International Association poll surveyed 114,000 respondents from 108 countries. According to the survey results, 1 out of 4 citizens of the planet has paid a bribe at least once in order to deal with administrative or associated with law enforcement issues. The first place is shared by Liberia and Sierra Leone with 75% of people bribing. The lowest level is recorded in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Japan, and Georgia – less than 5%. In compliance with the barometer, none of the world countries has a decreasing bribery rate, on the contrary, this number does nothing but increasing. The closest Russia's neighbor, Ukraine, gained the 30th position with its 39%, just like Bangladesh, Bolivia, Egypt, and Mexico. The goal of a such a corruption survey is to examine the corruption influence on the living conditions, to get the public opinion about bribery in general, and to appraise the government anti-corruption measures. However, the Global Corruption Barometer did not include Russia in the ranking. Probably, the Russians just know how to square the circles.
