The Former Bassist of Guns N' Roses Is to Open an Investment Company

The former bass guitarist of Guns N' Roses Duff Makkagan is to open his investment company Meridian Rock for musicians, - Fortune magazine reports.
A British financier Andy Bottomley has become Makkagan’s partner. The publication says that the goal of Meridian Rock is to teach the musicians to handle their finances. According to Makkagan, many of them do not understand anything related to this, but afraid to recognize it.
The musician said that he never knew how much his group has earned or lost in a regular tour. However, in 1994 Makkagan decided to have a basic course for financiers in Santa Monica Community College. Afterwards, he was attending a business school in Seattle.
In 2009 Makkagan started cooperation with Playboy magazine where he was invited to run a financial column. At the same time he was running a website blog of Seattle Weekly publication.
Duff Makkagan was performing in Guns N' Roses group from 1985 to 1998. Being a member of the group the musician was suffering from alcohol and drug addiction. After giving up the collective and study in Seattle he established a new group Velvet Revolver with former members of Guns N' Roses. They issued two albums and Makkagan issued two solo albums and three disks with his project Loaded.
