Obama is about to cancel his Moscow trip

The head-to-head meeting between the U.S. and Russia's presidents may be canceled due to the tensions caused by the fugitive ex-intelligence agent Edward Snowden. The White house is clearly demonstrating that America is not going to negotiate until the parties find a solution to this question. According to the schedule, Barack Obama is supposed to attend G20 summit in September and after that go to Moscow paying an official visit to his counterpart Vladimir Putin. However, since Mr Snowden has been in Russia much longer than expected, Washington starts making some adjustments to the president's plans. It is worth mentioning that Edward Snowden has been in the transit zone of Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow since June 23. The American accused of leaking information about the U.S. intelligence programs was planning to leave Moscow as soon as he got a political asylum. But the United States exerted pressure on those countries that intended to grant it to Mr Snowden, so he became a hostage to the Sheremetyevo transit zone. The U.S. authorities have already brought an official accusation of espionage against the intelligence leaker. As you know, Edward Snowden disclosed the details about secret programs tracking Internet activity and telephone conversations. Considering this situation and the recent disagreements on international policy issues, in particular, military actions in Syria, the possibility of bilateral meeting is quite faint.
