Two world's giants had faced the desperate fight for getting the status of the most valuable company. Apple has turned the tables one more time on other American corporation ExxonMobil. Despite the recent world's press announcement that the oilmen scored a victory over the design engineers, the latest report on the capitalization gave the Cupertino-based company the lead. ExxonMobil, which had been on top of the world since January, was beaten by the iPhone manufacturer, the current capitalization of which amounts to $414 billion. Meanwhile, the capitalization of its main rival ExxonMobil totals only $409 billion. The economists see the correlation between the existing state of affairs and the previously released financial report that disappointed investors. The net income of the oil giant in the second quarter of 2013 decreased more than twice, to $6.86 billion, in comparison with the last year. It is worth reminding that ExxonMobil occupied the top position in 2006-2011. Since Apple joined the competition, only these two companies have been involved in the race for leadership in market capitalization. It is quite hard to predict who is going to complete the rivals' list in the nearest future. The capitalization level is one of the main factors determining the choice of the companies that manage collective investments.
