Airbus group published the communique reporting that the number of orders for manufacturing aircraft has reached 1,062 for the nine months of 2013. Meanwhile, American Boeing being the arch rival of the European aircraft manufacturer gave an account of 890 orders placed for the same period.
In September Airbus signed up orders for 170 aircraft. European air companies Lufthansa, British Airways, and also the U.S. air company Delta Airlines are among the largest Airbus’ customers. Lufthansa intends to purchase 25 A330-300 airliners. Airbus highlighted that American Delta Airlines acquired its produce last time over 20 years ago. Airbus delivered 51 aircraft to its customers in September.
On October 7, Bloomberg informed that Airbus had secured orders for 31 jumbo jets of A350-900 and A350-1000 modifications from the Japanese air company Japan Airlines. Besides, it might place orders for 25 extra aircraft at the European manufacturer. It is estimated that on the whole the contract is worth $9.5 billion.
On October 3, Boeing stated that it had supplied its clients 476 aircraft since January till September 2013. In the meantime, Airbus has sent out just 445 aircraft for 2013. As for Boeing, the new generation of 737th modification was in the greatest demand; hence, the manufacturer provided 330 of such airplanes for its customers.
Airbus placed itself on record by having sold over 1,000 aircraft within a year just 4 times throughout the company’s history. 2011 hit the record as the company accomplished orders for 1,608 airplanes.
