New episode of Hobbit to increase value of some shares

The U.S. investment bank B.Riley & Co unveiled the list of companies whose shares may rise in price after the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which is scheduled for release on December 13, The MarketWatch reported.
Bank’s employee David Miller has predicted the film to make $330 million at the box office. Among the companies that can benefit from the movie’s popularity among moviegoers, the specialist names Time Warner, the parent company of Warner Bros. Time Warner’s shares have edged up 38 percent since the beginning of the year. B.Riley & Co forecasts that after the second episode of The Hobbit trilogy released, Time Warner’s shares are likely to trade around a $68 mark. By December 13, the company’s shares price reached $65.8 a piece.
In addition to Time Warner, Dolby Laboratories should improve its position. It is a global leader providing state-of-the-art audio technology and offering digital cinema products. This year so far, its securities increased 38 percent. IMAX Corporation can be interesting for investors as well. Since January, its stocks have climbed 27 percent. Miller recommends buying the IMAX cinema chain shares, while his outlook on Time Warner is neutral.
The investment bank says that ReaID working with 3D technology can also improve its investment attractiveness, because the new film will be primarily shown at 3D cinemas. However, as The MarketWatch said, the company's shares fell 25 percent this year.
The cinema chains Regal Entertainment Corp and Cinemark Holdings will also gain from the movie release. Miller recommends paying attention to News Corp, which owns HarperCollins Publishers. It has published the books of J.R.R. Tolkien, which have been adapted for the movie.
The first film of the Hobbit trilogy, An Unexpected Journey, earned $303 million at the U.S. box office and its bank exceeded $1.1 billion around the world.
