Donald Trump lashes out at crypto assets

Despite the fact that Donald Trump is no longer the President, investors are alert to his advice on financial markets. Being a successful businessman, Trump can sense which way the wind is blowing.

In the live broadcast with Varney & Co., the former US president made some loud statements on cryptocurrencies. Trump stressed that he is "not a fan" of cryptocurrencies and does not invest in bitcoins or other digital assets. He even called cryptocurrencies a "potential disaster to come". "I love the American currency," he clarified his investment preferences. "Cryptocurrencies hurt the currency of the United States. I think we should strengthen ourselves, we should be invested in our currency, not in cryptocurrencies," Trump added. Notably, Trump is a real fan of the US dollar and he has repeatedly supported the national currency during his presidency.

"I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is very volatile and based on the air. I want the dollar to be the currency of the world," Trump pointed out.

Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler is more optimistic about the crypto market. He has recently said that he supports digital currencies but argued that "the field is not going to reach any of its potential if it tries to stay outside of our laws."
