FX.co ★ Russia ready for counter sanctions against EU and U.S.

The Federation Council has set about preparing a bill which entitles Russia’s authorities to seize property, assets, and accounts of American and European companies including private ones, RIA Novosti reported referring to senator Andrei Klishas, a co-author of the draft law.
The President and government will exercise the confiscation right. Citing the senator, he suggests only such provisions which are obviously in line with the European legislation.
The senator defines the bill as a response to the sanctions which could be imposed by the U.S. and EU in case Russia’s troops are deployed in Ukraine. The policymaker explains that his draft aims to defend Russia’s sovereignty against intrusion.
A day earlier, President Vladimir Putin warned Western countries about possible damage that the sanctions exercised by Russia might cause both the U.S. and EU.
