Countries offer Ukraine billions in loans

Recent events have shown that the more problems a country has, the more volunteers are willing to give their money. Ukraine political crisis affected all aspects of modern geopolitics. Anti-government riots, coup d'état, interim government, and rebels – all these things take place almost in the heart of Europe, not in mountains of the Middle East or a banana republic. Many countries in the world arena did not expect such a scenario. However, it did happen there and now two national borders have changed. As for the economic changes, they are just brewing. New Ukrainian government receives numerous financial aid proposals, thus making it heavily indebted. Even Japan, which is literally and figuratively far away from the things going on in Ukraine, said it is ready to allocate $1.5 billion to the temporary government. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga presented the media Japan’s plans to help its fraternal people in Ukraine. The funds will be given as soon as Kiev provides their plan for economic reforms for approval and gets expert advice from the International Monetary Fund. The main part of this amount ($1.1 billion) will be borrowed, while the rest part will be sent in the form of grants. In addition to the Land of the Rising Sun, the European Union has given its financial help. The parliamentarians pledged €11 billion provided that Kiev will fulfill the economic reform program proposed by the IMF. The US also said it is ready to give $1.5 billion with Congress currently debating the corresponding bill. Two weeks ago the Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk urged the international community to provide the country with bailout package and announced the necessary amount – it was $15 billion as soon as possible and $20 billion over the next two years.
