Christine Lagarde not to be European Commission president

There is one candidate less in the race for EU's top job now. IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde ruled herself out of the running for the candidates for European Commission president.
“I’m not a candidate and the reason I’m not a candidate is that I have a job,” Lagarde said in response to a question at a news conference. “It’s a job that I happen to think is rather important at the moment.”
The rumors emerged after the meeting between German chancellor and French president. According to sources familiar with the matter, Angela Merkel asked the opinion of Francois Hollande about current head of the International Monetary Fund as a candidate for the European Commission presidency. After the information leaked, German government spokesman Steffen Seibert officially denied Christine Lagarde's candidacy. However, it is interesting that there are few real candidates for the position. Moreover, there are few ones that could satisfy the criteria of everyone. Indeed, London and Berlin could reach a compromise with Christine Lagarde as a candidate. She is popular in the UK and is said to be unofficially supported by Merkel. Yet, Lagarde herself should agree with the job, but she made it clear she is not eager to take it.
