Hungary refuses to stop work on South Stream

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that his country will not refuse from construction of its section of the South Stream gas pipeline, Associated Press reported.
"Those who say we should not build (gas pipeline), should make an alternative proposal how Hungary could live without energy," Orban stated.
The US and European Union are against the implementation of the South Stream project. In late June, European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger called on the European nations to freeze the project until it meets the EU regulations.
Serbia and Bulgaria still cannot decide whether they are turning South Stream down or not.
In early June Bulgaria said it has stopped building the pipeline.
Along with Russia, Hungary, and Bulgaria, Italy, Slovenia, and Austria also participate in the project. The South Stream constriction has been started on December 7, 2012 in the Anapa area. It is scheduled to be launched in late 2015. The overall capacity of the system is 63 billion cubic meters per year.
