FX.co ★ Ukraine to register all its cows and pigs

The Ukrainian parliament has passed a bill requiring citizens to register all of their cows, pigs, and other cattle they have.
Thus, legislation will be brought in line with EU standards aimed to protect the market from products of unknown origin.
Officials explained it by the need to facilitate access of Ukrainian livestock products to the European market.
The bill provides state funding for identification and registration of animals in farms.
Ukraine and the European Union signed the economic part of the Association Agreement on June 27. It is expected that the Ukrainian parliament ratifies the agreement in July. Thereafter, a free trade area between the EU and Ukraine will start functioning.
