The Chinese yuan weakened against the U.S. dollar in the Asian session on Thursday amid concerns over slowing economic growth across the globe.

Against the greenback, the yuan fell to 7.1416 for the first time since 30th November 2022. The USD/CNY pair closed yesterday's trading at 7.1285.

If the yuan extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around the 7.24 area.
