U.S. inflation data for November will be published by the Labor Department at 8.30 am ET Tuesday. Ahead of the data, the greenback dropped against its major counterparts.

The greenback was worth 145.10 against the yen, 1.0808 against the euro, 1.2582 against the pound and 0.8740 against the franc at 8:25 am ET.
