South Korea will on Friday see December data for consumer prices, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Inflation is expected to rise 0.2 percent on month and 3.3 percent on year after slipping 0.6 percent on month and gaining 3.3 percent on year in November.

Also, the markets in South Korea and New Zealand are closed on Friday for the New Year's Day holiday.
