In the fourth quarter of 2023, South Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) experienced a seasonally adjusted growth of 0.6 percent, according to a statement from the Bank of Korea on Thursday.
This figure mirrored the economic performance of the third quarter and also outperformed anticipated growth predictions of 0.5 percent.
Looking at the annualized figures, South Korea's GDP rose by 2.2 percent, exceeding predicted forecasts of 2.1 percent and showing a significant acceleration from the 1.4 percent growth in the preceding three months.
Overall in 2023, South Korea's GDP recorded an increase of 1.4 percent.
