European Economic News Preview: Germany Foreign Trade Data Due

The upcoming economic news from Europe will be heavily influenced by Monday's developments, particularly Germany's foreign trade and the Eurozone's investor confidence.

Data on Germany's foreign trade for December is to be released by Destatis at 2.00 am ET. Predictions indicate a potential decrease in the trade surplus from EUR 20.4 billion in November to 19.8 billion.

Following this, Spain's services PMI survey data for January will be released at 3.15 am ET. Professionals predict an increase in the index from 51.5 to 52.2. At 3.45 am ET, Italy's HCOB services PMI data is expected, and it's forecasted that the services index has climbed from 49.8 in December to a 50.7 in January.

Final composite PMI survey findings from France and Germany are due at 3.50 am ET and 3.55 am ET, respectively.

Then, at 4.00 am ET, S&P Global will release the final composite PMI survey results for the Eurozone, with the figure for January estimated at 47.9, in accordance with the flash estimate.

Then at 4.30 am ET, the results of the Eurozone Sentix investor confidence survey will be announced. Forecasts estimate an increase in investor sentiment index from -15.8 in January to -15.0 in February.

Correspondingly, the final services PMI survey data for the UK is due. Predictions show a potential increase in the index from 53.4 to 53.8 in January.

Lastly, at 5.00 am ET, Eurostat will publish the Eurozone's producer prices for December. The forecast suggests year-on-year producer prices might drop by 10.5%, after having eased by 8.8% in November.
