Gulf Keystone Petroleum CFO Ian Weatherdon To Retire; Names Gabriel Papineau-Legris CFO

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited, an independent operator and oil producer within Iraq's Kurdistan Region, announced that their Chief Financial Officer, Ian Weatherdon, has chosen to retire following a 35-year international career. This means he will not present himself for re-election in the company's Annual General Meeting scheduled for June 2024.

The company also revealed that Gabriel Papineau-Legris, their current Chief Commercial Officer, will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director after the AGM, in line with Ian's departure. Gabriel joined Gulf Keystone Petroleum back in 2016 and boasts an impressive background in investment banking and private equity. Given his significant contributions since the company's restructuring seven years ago, he was considered the ideal successor to Ian's CFO position.

Moreover, the firm disclosed that Kimberley Wood, currently serving as the Senior Independent Director, will be stepping down from the Board. Her resignation will take effect either once a replacement is chosen or at the 2024 AGM, whichever comes first. Kimberley has recently accepted an executive role and must reduce her Board obligations to comply with corporate governance guidelines. A search for her successor has begun, with an announcement to follow when a candidate is selected.
