Romania Producer Prices Continue To Fall

The National Institute of Statistics in Romania has reported that producer prices in the country fell consistently for the sixth month in a row in December. According to the data, the producer price index experienced a 3.4% decrease year-on-year in December, marking a somewhat steeper decline than November's 2.6% drop.

In the domestic market, prices fell by 5.0% on an annual basis in December, in contrast to a 0.7% rise in the foreign market. Among major industrial groups, energy goods saw the largest price drop at 9.9% over the year in December. This was followed by intermediate goods, which experienced a 4.6% decrease in prices. On the other hand, non-durable consumer goods saw a price increase of 5.9%.

Additionally, on a month-on-month basis, there was a 0.6% drop in producer prices in December.
