Dutch Household Spending Rises 0.3% In January

The Central Bureau of Statistics revealed on Wednesday that Dutch household expenditure rose for the fourth consecutive month in January. There was a steady growth of 0.3 percent in household consumption compared to the previous month.

In January, consumer purchases of durable goods such as clothing climbed by 0.6 percent, along with a slight increase in consumed services by 0.1 percent. However, households' expenditure on food and beverages, after being adjusted for price fluctuations, showed a decrease of 6.0 percent from the previous year.

The CBS Consumption Radar also signalled that the conditions for consumption in February were marginally less unfavorable compared to January.
