K+S FY Adj. Earnings Drops - Quick Facts

K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a renowned German agricultural firm, has reported a decline in its adjusted group earnings after tax for the fiscal year 2023. Earnings fell to 162 million euros, a significant drop from the previous year's 1.49 billion euros.

In terms of EBITDA operating earnings, the company witnessed a decrease from 2.42 billion euros in the preceding year to 712 million euros. Annual revenues similarly fell, with the firm reporting 3.87 billion euros compared to 5.67 billion euros in the previous year.

The Board of Executive Directors and Supervisory Board have planned to propose a dividend of 70 cents per share for the 2023 fiscal year during the Annual General Meeting.

In addition, K+S has projected its EBITDA to lie somewhere between 500 million euros and 650 million euros for the financial year 2024. This presumption is based on optimistic expectations of significant price recovery overseas during the spring season and sales volumes in the Agriculture customer segment of about 7.6 million tonnes.

However, if potassium chloride prices in Brazil retain their level as of February 2024-end, and these prices impact other sales markets, the EBITDA could potentially be at the lower end of the projected range with a fertilizer sales volume of around 7.3 million tonnes. Regardless of these factors, the company predicts that the adjusted free cash flow would at the very least, break even.
