Perpetua Resources Corporation (PPTA, PPTA.TO) has announced that their President and CEO, Laurel Sayer, plans to resign from her position and the Board, effective from March 14.
The Board of Directors has chosen Jon Cherry as Sayer's successor as President, CEO, and Board Member, starting from the same date. This change occurs as the Stibnite Gold Project concludes its permitting phase and enters the development and operations stages.
Despite exiting her role in March, Sayer's official retirement is slated for April 1, 2025, symbolizing her seven-year leadership that successfully navigated the company through the permitting procedure.
Simultaneously, Jessica Largent, the company's CFO, is appointed as a member of the Board and will serve in the capacity of a Senior Advisor to the CEO until March 2025.
Bringing 33 years of substantial mining industry experience to his new role, Cherry recently held positions of Chairman, President, and CEO with PolyMet Mining. Prior to PolyMet, Cherry was a senior leader for the Resolution Copper JV Project, a joint venture of Rio Tinto and BHP, among others.
Largent assumed her position as Chief Financial Officer in April 2022, having previously joined the company in February 2021 in the role of Vice President, Finance, and Investor Relations.
