New Zealand Has NZ$218 Million Shortfall In February

On Friday, Statistics New Zealand announced that the country reported a merchandise trade deficit of NZ$218 million in February. This figure significantly outperforms predictions, which anticipated a shortfall of NZ$825 million, a considerable decrease from January's revised deficit of NZ$1.089 billion, initially reported as -NZ$976 million.

Exports in February were valued at NZ$5.89 billion, a noticeable increase from the revised amount of NZ$4.82 billion in the preceding month, originally documented as NZ$4.93 billion. Meanwhile, imports hit the value of NZ$6.11 billion, showing a slight ascent from the revised NZ$5.90 billion a month earlier; originally, it was NZ$5.91 billion.
