Southern States Bancshares, Incorporated, the parent company of Southern States Bank, recently shared that their Chief Operating Officer, Jack Swift, is set to retire on May 31, 2024. Swift's retirement concludes an 18-year tenure at Southern States Bank, during which he spent five years as the Senior Executive Vice President, as well as the COO.
Swift joined the bank at its inception and significantly contributed to its growth, establishing it as a leading community banking institution in Alabama and Georgia. His impressive banking career covers a span of over 40 years.
Since 2019, Swift fulfilled the roles of Senior Executive Vice President and COO. Before this, from 2006 to 2019, he served as the Senior Executive Vice President and President of Southern States' Central Region. Additionally, his banking experience includes tenures as the Senior Vice President of Colonial Bank from 1996 to 2006 and as Vice President of SouthTrust Bank from 1992 to 1996.
Post retirement, Swift's responsibilities will be managed by Lynn Joyce, the Chief Financial Officer, and Greg Smith, the Chief Risk Officer.
