Eton Pharma Buys U.S. Rights To PKU GOLIKE From Relief Therapeutics

Eton Pharmaceuticals Inc has acquired the U.S. rights for PKU GOLIKE from Relief Therapeutics Holding SA. PKU, or phenylketonuria, is a rare inherited disorder caused by a defect in an enzyme required to digest phenylalanine, which is found in protein-containing foods. This leads to a toxic buildup of phenylalanine, which can inhibit proper brain development. As a result, PKU treatment often involves a strict, low-protein diet enhanced by phenylalanine-free medical formulas.

Eton foresees that the acquisition will boost their earnings by 2024, with anticipated peak sales of over $10 million annually. Additionally, Eton secured the U.S. rights to Relief's GOLIKE medical formulas, which have been developed to manage metabolic conditions such as tyrosinemia and homocystinuria. These are set to launch in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

Furthermore, Eton has secured the right of first negotiation for Relief's prospective drug, RLF-OD032, which is projected to be submitted to the FDA in the latter half of 2025 under a 505(b)(2) New Drug Application for the treatment of PKU. However, Relief will retain the rights for PKU GOLIKE outside the United States.
