FX.co ★ Taiwan Jobless Rate Almost Stable At 3.40%

The Directorate General of Budget Accounting and Statistics reported a slight increase in Taiwan's unemployment rate in February.

The unemployment rate, adjusted for seasonal factors, was slightly up at 3.40% in February, compared to 3.39% in January. This figure was lower than the rate reported in the same period last year, which was 3.56%.

Without seasonal adjustment, the unemployment rate for February rose to 3.39%, as compared to 3.31% in the prior month. Consequently, the total number of unemployed individuals increased by 9,000, reaching a total of 406,000.

The data additionally revealed a decrease in total employment, falling by 15,000 from the previous month to a total of 11.572 million. However, when compared to the previous year, employment in February showed an overall growth of 87,000.
