FX.co ★ Sun Life Financial Names Timothy Deacon CFO, Succeeding Manjit Singh

Sun Life Financial Inc. has announced the appointment of Timothy Deacon as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, effective from April 8th. Deacon will join Sun Life's global Executive Team, reporting directly to Kevin Strain, the President and CEO of Sun Life.

Deacon is set to succeed Manjit Singh, who is currently serving as the President of Sun Life Asia. Singh will continue in his role as President of Sun Life Asia and as CFO until Deacon takes up his new position.

With more than two decades of experience in the financial sector, Deacon previously worked as the Chief Financial Officer of a major pension plan.

Commenting on the appointment, Strain stated "Given the strategic priority, Sun Life places on financial discipline, I'm confident that Tim will make significant contributions in advancing this focus while driving growth and innovation in our Finance function. His extensive industry experience and proven leadership make him a highly valued addition to our Executive Team."
