Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun To Step Down At 2024-end; Names Stephanie Pope Commercial Airplanes CEO

Boeing's President and CEO, Dave Calhoun, has announced his intention to resign from his CEO role at the conclusion of 2024. However, he will remain at the helm of Boeing throughout the year. In addition, Stan Deal, the President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, is to retire, and Stephanie Pope is to replace him starting from Monday. Pope has worked as the chief operating officer of Boeing since January.

The Board Chair, Larry Kellner, shared with the board his decision not to run for re-election in the upcoming Annual Shareholder meeting. In response, the board has chosen Steve Mollenkopf as Kellner's successor for the position of the independent board chair. Mollenkopf, a board member since 2020 and the former CEO of Qualcomm, will be responsible for guiding the board in choosing Boeing’s next CEO.
