European Economic News Preview: Eurozone Economic Sentiment Data Due

The economic confidence survey from the euro area and consumer confidence from France are among significant financial news anticipated for the coming Wednesday, drawing attention to a hectic day for European financial updates.

Early in the day, at around 3.00 am ET, we await the release of data on household consumption and retail sales from Norway, as well as foreign trade figures from Sweden.

Following this, at 3.45 am ET, France's statistical agency, INSEE, will unveil its consumer confidence survey data. Analysts predict an uptick in the confidence index, from an 89 score in February to an expected 90 in March.

At 4.00 am ET, Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE) will share critical data - the preliminary consumer price inflation figures for March, and retail sales statistics. The inflation rate is projected to have surged to 3.2 percent in March from February’s value of 2.8 percent.

At 4.30 am ET, the central bank of Sweden will announce its monetary policy decision. Industry expectations point to a continuance of the benchmark rate at 4.00 percent.

Lastly, at 6.00 am ET, we can expect the European Commission to present the euro area’s economic sentiment survey results. Analysts forecast the economic confidence index to have increased to 96.3 in March from 95.4 in February.
