Sensex, Nifty See Modest Gains In Early Trade

Indian stock market noted a modest increase in its trade on Thursday, despite receiving mixed signals on a global level. The standard S&P BSE Sensex rose by 180 points, contributing to a 0.3 percent increase, reaching 73,123 in the early trading hours. The broader NSE Nifty index also reflected a similar trend with an increase of 73 points, or 0.3 percent, reaching 22,221.

Leading the charge were companies like Adani Ports, HDFC Life, Power Grid Corp, and BPCL, each enjoying a 2-3 percent boost. On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, Axis Bank, Nestle India, Tech Mahindra, and HCL Technologies saw a decline of approximately 1 percent.

Vodafone Idea observed a 2.4 percent surge as its FPO subscription opened on the same day. ICICI Lombard reported a 3.2 percent hike after announcing a 19 percent increase in its Q4 net profit. In spite of Q4 consolidated net profits experiencing a slight dip, Tata Communications also saw a 1.3 percent rise.

Angel One's quarterly profit growth by 27 percent led its market value to jump by 4.6 percent. IIFL Finance's market performance showed a 2.2 percent gain upon circulation of their fundraising reports.

Ambuja Cements saw a 1.7 percent rise following the Adani family increasing their stake in the company. In contrast, Infosys remained stable as it teetered on the edge of releasing its earnings. Zee Entertainment Enterprises did reflect a slight drop after announcing its new streamlined organisational structure.
