Sensex, Nifty Extend Gains For Third Day

Indian shares slightly increased on Tuesday, despite relinquishing some early gains in light of positive global indicators. The standard S&P BSE Sensex concluded the day's trading 89.83 points, or 0.12 percent, higher at 73,738.45. This continued the upward trend for a third consecutive session as worries about a broader Middle East conflict decreased.

The comprehensive NSE Nifty index ascended 31.60 points, or 0.14 percent, to stand at 22,368. This cautious trading occurred as investors eagerly awaited key U.S economic data alongside earnings results from major companies including Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and General Motors for signs regarding investment direction.

Shares for both Grasim and Bharti Airtel saw considerable increases of around 4 percent, leading the gainers in the Nifty pack. Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, and Nestle India also experienced heightened shares, with a 1-2 percent increase. Conversely, Sun Pharma showed a marked downturn, losing considerable value— around 3.6 percent. Hindalco, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Reliance Industries, and BPCL similarly saw shares depreciate, with losses ranging between 1-2 percent.
