European Economic News Preview: Eurozone Monetary Aggregates Data Due

The upcoming economic forecast includes key data from the Eurozone on monetary developments and consumer confidence statistics from France. On a relatively slow day for European economic news, these reports headline Friday's schedule.

Early in the day, at 2:00 am ET, Norway will release retail sales and household consumption data, while Sweden will disclose foreign trade statistics. Just 45 minutes later, France's statistical office, INSEE, is scheduled to present the results of a consumer sentiment survey. Analysts project that the confidence index will improve to 92 in April, a slight increase from 91 in March.

At 3:00 am ET, Spain's National Institute of Statistics (INE) is planned to publish both quarterly unemployment data and retail sales figures, with a predicted jobless rate of 11.8% for the first quarter.

The European Central Bank (ECB) will then release monetary aggregates figures for March at 4:00 am ET. Projections suggest the Eurozone M3 money supply will display a 0.5% annual growth, a slight rise from a 0.4% increase in February.

Lastly, Russia's Central Bank is expected to announce its monetary policy decision at 6:30 am ET. The consensus among experts predicts that the bank will maintain the benchmark interest rate at 16.00%.
