FX.co ★ Telenor Names Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer President & CEO, Succeeding Sigve Brekke

Telenor ASA, a prominent Norwegian telecommunications company, announced on Thursday the appointment of Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer as its new President & CEO.

Fasmer will succeed Sigve Brekke, who will step down on December 1 after serving over nine years in the role. Brekke has been Telenor's CEO since August 2015 and has an agreement to retire at the end of 2024.

Currently, Fasmer is the CEO of SpareBank 1 SR-Bank, which is undertaking the largest Norwegian banking merger in 25 years. Her previous roles include Group Executive Vice President at the insurance firm Fremtind Forsikring and Group Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Banking at DNB Bank.
