European Economic News Preview: Eurozone Flash PMI Data Due

The economic calendar for Thursday highlights the release of the Flash Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) survey results for the euro area and the UK, marking a relatively light day for European economic news.

At 3:15 AM ET, S&P Global will publish France's flash composite PMI data for May. Analysts anticipate that the composite PMI will edge up to 51.0, an increase from 50.5 in the previous month.

Following this, at 3:30 AM ET, the flash composite PMI results for Germany are expected. Economists predict the composite index will rise to 51.0 in May, compared to 50.6 in April.

At 4:00 AM ET, S&P Global is set to release the euro area's flash composite PMI survey data. The consensus is that the composite output index will climb to 52.0 in May, up from 51.7 in April.

Later, at 4:30 AM ET, the UK’s S&P Global composite PMI data is scheduled for release. Forecasts suggest a slight decrease to 54.0 in May from 54.1 in the previous month.

Finally, at 10:00 AM ET, the Eurozone flash consumer confidence survey data will be made available. Economists expect the index to improve to -14.0 in May, up from -14.7 in April.
