Google App For Android To Get 'notification' Feature: 9to5Google

The Google app for Android phones has introduced a new feature designed to enhance search functionality. The latest beta version now includes a dedicated "Notifications" feed accessible via the bottom bar. Initially launched on the mobile Google app for Android earlier this year, this feature was first identified by 9to5Google.

The "Notifications" feed is listed alongside Discover, Search, and Saved and is represented by a standard bell icon.

By tapping on a notification, users can load the associated search term. An overflow menu for each notification provides options to "Delete," "Don't receive notifications like this," and "Provide feedback."

With the addition of the Notifications option in the bottom bar, users can now easily access a continuous stream of alerts from Google Search. These alerts cover a variety of topics including weather updates, flights, sports scores, entertainment options, and more, conveniently grouped under "Today" and "Earlier."

This feature is particularly beneficial for users who miss notifications from the Google app, offering a more streamlined view compared to Android's standard notification history.

The new Notifications screen is available in the latest beta release of the Google app (version 15.20).
