European Economic News Preview: German ZEW Economic Confidence Data Due

Economic sentiment survey results from Germany and the final inflation figures from the euro area are the leading economic news items scheduled for release on Tuesday.

At 3:00 AM ET, Austria will release its finalized inflation data. Preliminary estimates indicated that consumer price inflation slowed to 3.3 percent in May, down from 3.5 percent in April.

By 5:00 AM ET, results from Germany’s ZEW economic sentiment survey will be made public. The economic confidence index is anticipated to increase to 50.0 in June, up from 47.1 in May.

Concurrently, Eurostat will publish the final inflation figures for the euro area for May. Expectations are that inflation will align with the preliminary estimate of 2.6 percent, rising from 2.4 percent in April.

At 8:00 AM ET, Hungary's central bank will reveal its monetary policy decision. Economists predict that the central bank will lower the deposit interest rate by 25 basis points, bringing it down to 6.00 percent.
