Swiss Market Ends Marginally Down

The Switzerland market experienced a slight decline on Thursday after a volatile session, as investors held back from making significant moves ahead of key U.S. personal income and spending data releases.

The benchmark SMI recorded a minor loss of 11.41 points, or 0.09%, ending at 12,004.31. Throughout the day, it fluctuated between a low of 11,990.32 and a high of 12,050.52.

Among the notable performers, SIG Group saw a decline of 2.83%, while Kuehne & Nagel fell by 1.3%. Other companies like Swatch Group, Nestle, Geberit, SGS, Novartis, and Swisscom recorded losses ranging from 0.5% to 1%.

Conversely, Sandoz Group rose by 1.83%, and Holcim gained 1.54%. Straumann Holding and Schindler Ps also posted gains of 1.11% and 1.08%, respectively.

VAT Group ended the day nearly 1% higher. Swiss Life Holding, Roche Holding, and Sonova registered modest gains.

Leclanché's shares surged approximately 13.8% following the announcement of a joint venture agreement with Pinnacle International Capital. The UK private equity firm committed an investment of 360 million francs to the venture.
