Mexico Jobless Rate Rises To 2.9%

Mexico's unemployment rate saw a slight uptick in July, reaching its highest point in six months, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) on Tuesday.

The unadjusted unemployment rate edged up to 2.9 percent in July from 2.8 percent in the previous month, aligning with analysts' expectations.

In comparison, the jobless rate stood at 3.1 percent in the same month last year.

The number of unemployed individuals in July was 1.81 million, a decrease from 1.92 million in the previous year.

When adjusted for seasonal variations, the unemployment rate held steady at 2.7 percent.
