FTSE 100 Gains Ahead Of Macro Data

UK stocks rose higher on Monday, rebounding after a six-day decline.

The FTSE 100 index increased by 50 points, or 0.6%, to reach 8,231, ahead of crucial employment and GDP data set to be released on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Despite a survey indicating a significant slowdown in Britain's labor market last month, investors remained optimistic.

Mining companies Anglo American, Antofagasta, and Glencore saw gains of 1-2%, while energy giant BP Plc rose by 0.5% and Shell added 0.8%.

Entain surged by 8.2% following an announcement that its UK and Ireland online business had returned to growth sooner than expected.

Housebuilder Barratt Developments climbed 1%, and Lloyds Banking Group advanced by 1.6% after jointly launching a £150 million venture with government agency Homes England.
