FX.co ★ Danish Consumers Slightly Less Pessimistic In September

In September, consumer sentiment in Denmark showed signs of slight improvement, according to data released by Statistics Denmark on Friday.

The consumer confidence index increased to -6.8 in September, up from -7.4 in August.

The survey revealed a positive shift in households' assessment of their current financial situation and their willingness to make purchases. However, perceptions of Denmark's overall current and future economic conditions, along with the financial outlook for families, saw a minor decline.

Notably, consumers' confidence in their personal financial situation over the next twelve months decreased to 2.9 in September from 3.2 in August.

In contrast, the outlook for the country's economic situation over the next year remained pessimistic, worsening to -9.5 in September from -8.9 in the previous month.

Additionally, households anticipate an accelerated rise in prices over the coming year and foresee an upward trend in unemployment rates, according to the survey.
