European Economic News Preview: Swiss Monetary Policy Decision Due

On Thursday, key economic reports slated for release include Switzerland's monetary policy announcement and Germany's consumer sentiment survey results.

At 2:00 AM ET, the market research group GfK will release German consumer sentiment data for October. The forward-looking index is expected to show a slight decrease to -22.4, compared to -22.0 in September.

Additionally, data on unemployment rates from Norway and foreign trade statistics from Sweden will be released.

Spain's retail sales data for August will be made public at 3:00 AM ET. Economists predict an annual growth rate of 1.9%, up from the 1.0% rise in the previous month.

At 3:30 AM ET, the Swiss National Bank will announce its monetary policy decision, with expectations pointing to a reduction in the key interest rate to 1.00% from 1.25%.

At 4:00 AM ET, the European Central Bank is scheduled to release its money supply data. Projections indicate that the M3 money supply will grow by 2.5% year-on-year in August, a slight increase from the 2.3% growth observed in July.

Simultaneously, Italy's statistical office ISTAT will publish its business and consumer confidence survey results. The business confidence index is anticipated to remain steady at 87.1 in September.
