Confidence among manufacturers in the Netherlands exhibited a slight improvement in September, driven by a more positive outlook on future business activity, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics this Friday.

The producer sentiment index inched up to -1.7 in September from -1.9 in August. However, it still lags behind the long-term average of -1.3.

Manufacturers expressed increased optimism about production levels for the next three months, though concerns about their order positions grew more negative.

The survey highlighted that confidence was particularly bolstered among manufacturers in the electrical and machinery industries.
