Coherent Corp. (COHR), specializing in materials, networking, and lasers, announced on Friday the sale of its manufacturing facility in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, UK.

Jim Anderson, CEO of Coherent, stated: "Divesting the Newton Aycliffe plant aligns with our strategy to optimize our portfolio and streamline our operations, enabling us to concentrate our investments and capital on areas with the highest potential for long-term growth and profitability."

The 310,000-square-foot facility, situated in Aycliffe Business Park, was initially acquired by the former II VI Inc., now known as Coherent Corp., in 2017.
