Toyota Recalls About 42,200 2023-2024 Model Year Corolla Cross Hybrid Vehicles

Toyota Motor Corp. (TM) has announced a safety recall for 42,199 of its 2023-2024 model year Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles in the United States, citing a potential brake system issue, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Friday.

The issue pertains to the brake actuator assembly, which is supplied by Bosch. This component includes skid control electronic control unit (ECU) software that may fail to properly regulate brake fluid pressure during cornering. Such a failure can result in a hard brake pedal and diminished power brake assist, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall affects specific Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles manufactured between June 1, 2022, and September 10, 2024.

To address the issue, Toyota dealers will update the skid control ECU software in the affected vehicles at no charge.

These recalled vehicles are anticipated to fall within the warranty period, ensuring that the necessary repairs will incur no cost to the owners.
