European Economic News Preview: UK GDP, Mortgage Approvals Data Due

On Monday, a slew of significant economic reports from Europe will be in the spotlight, including the revised quarterly national accounts and mortgage approvals from the UK, along with preliminary inflation data from Germany.

The UK's Office for National Statistics will release key GDP and business investment figures at 2:00 AM ET. Initial projections indicated that the UK economy expanded by 0.6 percent in the second quarter, following a 0.7 percent increase in the previous quarter.

Simultaneously, housing market data from Nationwide is expected to be released, providing insights into the UK's residential property sector.

Germany's federal statistical office, Destatis, is also scheduled to publish figures on import prices and retail sales. Market forecasts suggest a 0.4 percent month-on-month decline in import prices for August.

At 4:30 AM ET, the Bank of England will announce mortgage approval numbers for August, with expectations for approvals to rise to 64,000, up from the previous month's 61,999.

Italy's ISTAT will release its preliminary inflation data for September at 5:00 AM ET.

Later, at 8:00 AM ET, Destatis will unveil Germany's flash inflation figures for September. Economists predict a deceleration in the inflation rate to 1.5 percent, down from 1.9 percent in August.
