South Korea Has $6.66 Billion Trade Surplus

South Korea reported a merchandise trade surplus of $6.66 billion for September, according to data released by the Customs Office on Tuesday.

This figure surpassed the anticipated surplus of $5 billion and showed an improvement from the $3.77 billion recorded in August.

Exports increased by 7.5 percent year-on-year, exceeding the forecasted 7.0 percent rise, though slightly below the 11.2 percent jump seen in the previous month.

Imports grew by 2.2 percent annually, falling short of the expected 4.0 percent increase and slowing down from the 6.0 percent rise observed in August.
