FX.co ★ Japan August Current Account Surplus Y3.804 Trillion

Japan recorded a current account surplus of 3.804 trillion yen in August, as reported by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday. This figure surpassed expectations of a 2.43 trillion yen surplus and showed an increase from the 2.80 trillion yen surplus in July.

Year-over-year, imports rose by 1.3 percent to reach 8.766 trillion yen. Conversely, exports increased by 6.2 percent annually, totaling 8.388 trillion yen, resulting in a trade deficit of 377.9 billion yen.

The capital account registered a deficit of 24.4 billion yen, while the financial account achieved a surplus of 4.187 trillion yen.
